New content for the Wii is available. The Wii Shop channel was updated to separate the directories into Virtual Console (VC), WiiWare, and Wii Channel. The WiiWare section has a few launch titles, including the infamous Flash game, Defend Your Castle and the WiiWare-exclusive Final Fantasy Crystal Cronicles game.
Coming soon (hopefully) is the WiiWare title, Everyone’s Pokemon Ranch. It’s sorta like the Pokemon Box and Hey You Pikachu! games mixed with the Mii channel. You store up to 1000 pokemon (at 999 pokemon, you supposedly get a Mew) in the game, and can play with them in various ways. The more pokemon you have and objectives you’ve done, the more you’re able to do in the game. Here are some screenshots [from gamesradar].
The Nintendo channel is more-so a game preview channel. You can watch gameplay videos, trailers, and commentary on your favorite Wii and DS games, as well as be able to download game demos to your DS via the Wii to DS download service built in.

Some features in Pi Story include: Classes, where you are either a Fighter or a Cleric; Crafting, where you can cook, make potions, and collect herbs (more things to come); a party (4 or 8-player teams) where you group up and do missions together and guild system (up to 100 members). There are also personal blogs and player-owned houses.
On another note of this release, there’s so much content that the disc is dual-layer, and a tiny fraction of Wii consoles will be unable to read the disc at times. This is mainly due to failure of the laser reading lens to read all of the crammed data from the disc if there’s dirt, dust, or anything on the lens. If you have that problem, Nintendo will clean the laser reading head for free when you ship it to them.
To make up for this problem, Nintendo temporarily upgrading shipping to be much faster (both inbound and outbound), and the cost will be free for you. That way, you can get your console back in a short period of time.
The website for the form and announcement is right here.
And please - don’t go Rambo and try to clean the lens yourself, as you might further damage or break the console yourself.
The long-awaited Super Smash Bros: Brawl has finally arrived!
This is the most-anticipated game for the Wii won’t leave you disappointed at all. From a built-in map maker, to new, highly-detailed maps, to all the classic stuff, this game has it all. Some of the new features include Final Smashes, which are finishing moves that do heavy damage or benefit the group. Also, the story mode is even more complex than before!
Some new aspects to the game include the Smashville map. It’s a map with the Animal Crossing theme, and if you play a match on that map on Saturday at 8pm, you will see and hear a special treat from K.K. Slider as he does a live performance on stage!
Yes, even the government gets to play video games and get paid for it.
The Cyber War Games is an extremely high-tech extremely complex cyber security setup developed by the National Cyber Security Division of the Department of omeland Security. They’ve been working on it for more than a year and costing more than USD $6 Million.
The world-wide simulation will be used to test the skills of entrants, including the Department of Defence, FBI, CIA, CISCO, Microsoft, and many countries from around the world in an extremely securely-connected environment. The participants join one of the two groups, Planners, who set up the exercises, or Players, who participate in the events by trying to break into the simulation networks and obtain information.
There will be many traps along the way that will throw the players off the trail. The designers will be active throughout the week-long event, injecting into the system in attempt to thwart the contestants with situations unknown to the players.
This project / event is to help benchmark how well cyberterrorism and security interact, as well as to learn how to develop more-secure networks.

It truly is a sad day for fans of role-playing games.
The man who co-created Dungeons & Dragons (the first Role-playing game ever made, created in 1974) is dead. Gary Gygax died Tuesday morning at his home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin (not too far from Rockford, IL!). Apparently he had been having bad health issues for a few years.
Firefox 3.0 Beta 3 is out. It’s kinda of fun to mess around with, but I’d advise you to only run it on websites you know to be safe, since it’s still in BETA phase and not all of the bugs are worked out yet. If you’re too lazy, here’s a sneak peek at the test page.
TWCOM wishes all of you a Merry Christmas and happy holidays!

The theme is almost ready for the new blog software, so expect it within a few weeks.

You should check out this prank video I came across again. It’s rather old, but still pretty funny in my opinion.
These people get pranked when filling up their gas station, thinking the TV show is talking to them.
Kezz on the forums announced that the CBT is finally arriving on Wednesday the 20th at 10:00am PDT (noon CDT)! All invitations should be sent out by the end of tomorrow.
If you didn’t get an invitation, well, then you didn’t make the CBT. Kezz mentioned a possibility of sending more invitations, depending on capacity. If you don’t happen to make it, you will just have to wait for the Open Beta Testing, which will be promptly after the CBT. No need to worry!
