Changes for PHP5 Version of GDLib, and Getting php5-gd to Work!

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

I had noticed that the GDLib functions were installed, yet the images would not generate the correct output. This is due to the change in some of the functions, such as imgpng();, which had an alteration of parameter handling, and is much more restrictive.
bool imagepng ( resource $image [, string $filename [, int $quality [, int $filters ]]] )

Let’s say we had called imagepng(); like we could in PHP4:
imagepng($image,”,90);

PHP4 didn’t complain when using it like that, as it was a bit more lenient on parameters. When using PHP5, you have to either output images as:
imagepng($image);

Or, you can use the full-blown
imagepng($image,NULL,90,NULL);

and it should work again. I haven’t tested the latter (though it should work), but I changed all of my GD programs and projects to imagepng($image);.

If you are having a problem getting GDLib to work and you have all of the modules installed correctly, check your phpinfo(); and/or gd_info();.

If all of those claim to be working, yet your results are now URL paths to the image, well, they are working - you are just using a deprecated method of using imagepng(); or imagejpeg();.

GunZ Maniac Event and Clan Dynamic Signatures

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

GM_PrettyGirl has made her appearance as ijji GUNZ Staff today, and came with an awesome event for you all.

Event page: GUNZ Maniac Event

Event date: May 9 2007 thru May 20 2007
Event time: 1pm to 6pm PDT (3pm-8pm CDT) on weekdays, 9am to 12pm PDT (11am to 2pm CDT) on weekends.

As noted on the announcement, the event has three sub-events going on (and you can participate in all of them):
1st part: Spend a minimum of 300 ij (ijji e-currency) to recieve a free 30-day Sir Protector set. The set gender is determined by the highest-level character’s gender.

2nd part: Players to complete a quest using Torn Page 13 will get a 15-day Enia’s coin. Completing Torn Page 41 gets you 15-day Giston’s coin, and if anyone uses the boss combinations and gets to one of the new bosses (Aneramon the Wicked or Lich [the Dragon]) will recieve 3 30-day coins - Enia’s Coin (water/ice), Giston’s Coin (earth/poison), and Windscar’s coin (wind/electricity).

3rd part: Anyone who plays in the given time period of the event will get a chance to win one of the following items:
First prize - Rare GUNZ game guide (3 winners)
Second prize - A GUNZ t-shirt (50 winners)
Third prize - A GUNZ poster (100 winners)

ijji has really outdone themselves with this event. ;) In other news, I have nearly completed the signatures for GUNZ The Duel clans. See the image below:

Happy Easter Everyone!

Sunday, April 8th, 2007

Happy Easter, everyone!

Coming soon to terranwolf.com is a TI-83/4/plus calculator program that is desired by many - a graphical clock. It will also appear on TIcalc.org for others to find it there. Screenshots of this application are coming soon. They will be uploaded as soon as the last set of features for the first released build are completed.

Trying to make TI-BASIC programs stay in the zone of realtime updating is very difficult. This app currently runs fast enough to keep up with time measures, but because of the low amount of memory, It gets tricky to write efficiently enough to not show “lag” when it updates information.

The program will be open-source, and comments will be included in the downloads. I think everyone should see how I did it and come up with their own ideas to tweak it. :)

Dynamic Signature

This is my latest dynamic signature work.
It’s used for ijji GUNZ’s ranking, and can be seen in ijji’s official forums.

The generated image is around 6KB is size, so it’s nice and small for a PNG file.

It automatically updates whenever the rankings are updated on ijji.com. However, that means that the images do not work when the GUNZ site is in server maintainence (it will be blank).

I may or may not allow auto-creation for users, depending on how much bandwidth and CPU I can limit it to. I’ve had this sitting on my harddrive awhile, so I think it’s best to show it off now, don’t you think? ;)
